Ingredients
  

Hot Chocolate Base
  • 2 cups milk whole milk or any milk of choice
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder unsweetened
  • 2 tablespoons sugar adjust to taste
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract for flavor
  • 1/4 cup chocolate chips semi-sweet or dark
Whipped Cream Topping
  • 1 cup heavy cream cold
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar for sweetness
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract for flavor

Method
 

Prepare Hot Chocolate
  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine milk, cocoa powder, sugar, and vanilla extract. Whisk until smooth and heated through, but not boiling.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in chocolate chips until melted and well combined.
Make Whipped Cream
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract.
  2. Using a whisk or electric mixer, whip the cream until soft peaks form.
Assemble and Serve
  1. Pour the hot chocolate into mugs and top generously with whipped cream.
  2. Optional: sprinkle with cocoa powder or chocolate shavings for garnish.

Notes
