Prepare the Ingredients
- Slice the Italian sausage and peel and cube the sweet potatoes.
- Mince the garlic and measure out the honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, and red pepper flakes.
Cook the Sausage and Sweet Potatoes
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the sliced sausage and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add the cubed sweet potatoes and stir to combine. Cook for another 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until sweet potatoes are tender.
Make the Honey Garlic Sauce
- In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, apple cider vinegar, and red pepper flakes.
Combine and Serve
- Once the sweet potatoes are tender, pour the honey garlic sauce over the sausage and sweet potatoes, stirring to coat evenly.
- If using, add broccoli florets and cook for an additional 3-5 minutes until heated through.
