Ingredients
  

Bread Base
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
Filling
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup jalapeños diced, fresh or pickled
  • 1/4 cup green onions chopped
Topping
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon jalapeños sliced for garnish

Method
 

Prepare the Bread Base
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together milk, egg, and melted butter.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
Make the Filling
  1. In a separate bowl, mix together cream cheese, shredded cheddar, diced jalapeños, and green onions until well combined.
Assemble the Bread
  1. Pour half of the bread batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  2. Spread the cream cheese filling evenly over the batter.
  3. Top with the remaining bread batter.
  4. Sprinkle the top with additional cheddar cheese and sliced jalapeños.
Bake the Bread
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  2. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
