Method
Prepare the Bread Base
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan.
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk together milk, egg, and melted butter.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
Make the Filling
- In a separate bowl, mix together cream cheese, shredded cheddar, diced jalapeños, and green onions until well combined.
Assemble the Bread
- Pour half of the bread batter into the prepared loaf pan.
- Spread the cream cheese filling evenly over the batter.
- Top with the remaining bread batter.
- Sprinkle the top with additional cheddar cheese and sliced jalapeños.
Bake the Bread
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
