Ingredients
  

Beef Short Ribs
  • 4 pounds beef short ribs bone-in
Vegetables
  • 1 large onion chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 medium carrots sliced
  • 2 stalks celery sliced
Sauce
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup red wine optional
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper freshly ground
  • 1 teaspoon salt to taste

Method
 

Prepare the Ingredients
  1. Chop the onion, garlic, carrots, and celery. Set aside.
  2. Season the beef short ribs with salt and black pepper.
Sear the Ribs
  1. In a skillet over medium-high heat, sear the short ribs on all sides until browned, about 3-4 minutes per side.
Combine in Crockpot
  1. Place the chopped vegetables in the bottom of the crockpot.
  2. Add the seared short ribs on top of the vegetables.
  3. In a bowl, mix together the beef broth, red wine, soy sauce, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce. Pour over the ribs.
Cook
  1. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours until the beef is tender.
Serve
  1. Remove the ribs from the crockpot and let rest for a few minutes before serving. Serve with the vegetables and sauce from the pot.

Notes
