Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour sifted
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method
 

Prepare the Dough
  1. In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Add the vanilla extract and mix until combined.
  3. Gradually add the sifted flour and salt, mixing until the dough comes together.
Shape and Chill
  1. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and roll it to about 1/4 inch thickness.
  2. Cut into desired shapes using cookie cutters and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  3. Chill the cut cookies in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
Bake the Cookies
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Bake the cookies for 15-20 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  3. Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
