Ingredients
  

Meat and Beans
  • 1 lb Ground Beef 80% lean
  • 1 can Kidney Beans drained and rinsed
  • 1 can Black Beans drained and rinsed
  • 1 can Diced Tomatoes with juices
Vegetables
  • 1 medium Onion chopped
  • 1 medium Bell Pepper chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
Spices and Seasonings
  • 2 tbsp Chili Powder
  • 1 tbsp Cumin
  • 1 tbsp Oregano
  • 1 tsp Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper to taste
Liquids
  • 1 cup Beef Broth or water
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil for sautéing

Method
 

Prepare the Ingredients
  1. Chop the onion, bell pepper, and garlic.
  2. Drain and rinse the kidney and black beans.
Cook the Meat
  1. In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add ground beef and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
Add Vegetables
  1. Add chopped onion, bell pepper, and garlic to the pot.
  2. Sauté until vegetables are softened, about 5 minutes.
Combine Ingredients
  1. Stir in chili powder, cumin, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  2. Add diced tomatoes, kidney beans, black beans, and beef broth.
Simmer the Chili
  1. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to low.
  2. Cover and let simmer for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Serve
  1. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
  2. Serve hot with your choice of toppings.
