Ingredients
  

Fritter Batter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 large egg beaten
  • 1/2 cup milk whole or 2%
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
Apple Filling
  • 2 medium apples peeled, cored, and diced
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
Frying
  • 2 cups vegetable oil for frying
Glaze
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Method
 

Prepare the Apple Filling
  1. In a bowl, combine diced apples, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Mix well and set aside.
Make the Fritter Batter
  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, combine the beaten egg, milk, and vanilla extract. Pour into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
Combine and Fry
  1. Fold the apple mixture into the batter until evenly distributed.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat (about 350°F).
  3. Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.
Prepare the Glaze
  1. In a small bowl, mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
Glaze the Fritters
  1. Drizzle the glaze over the warm fritter bites and serve immediately.
