  • 1 (16 ounce) container Cool Whip
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sugar, divided
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 quart fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup water

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, mix together 1/2 cup sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, and water. Cook over medium heat until boiling and thickened. Allow to cool slightly.
  2. Gently fold sliced strawberries into the cooled glaze.
  3. Tear angel food cake into 1-inch pieces and mix with 2 cups of Cool Whip. Press into the bottom of your baking dish.
  4. In another bowl, beat softened cream cheese with remaining sugar and vanilla until smooth; fold in leftover Cool Whip. Spread evenly over cake layer.
  5. Pour strawberry mixture on top, ensuring even coverage.
  6. Refrigerate for 2-3 hours before serving.
