  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 cups granny smith apples, peeled and diced
  • 5 tbsp granulated sugar (for coating)
  • 1 1/2 tbsp ground cinnamon (for coating)
  • 1 3/4 tsp ground nutmeg (for coating)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream the softened butter with granulated and brown sugars until fluffy.
  4. Beat in eggs one at a time along with vanilla extract.
  5. Fold in diced apples gently.
  6. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions onto parchment-lined baking sheets.
  7. Mix cinnamon and sugar in a separate bowl; roll each cookie ball in this mixture before placing on the sheet.
