  • 1 large round loaf of crusty bread (sourdough recommended)
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 8 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley (finely chopped)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh chives (finely chopped)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: 1 cup shredded mozzarella or parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix the softened butter, minced garlic, parsley, chives, salt, and pepper in a bowl until well combined.
  3. Cut the loaf diagonally into about one-inch pieces without cutting all the way through.
