  • 2 lbs ribeye steak (cut into 2-inch long thin slices)
  • 1 red bell pepper (chopped into bite-size pieces)
  • 1 green bell pepper (chopped into bite-size pieces)
  • 1 medium white onion (chopped into bite-size pieces)
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp ginger (minced)
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • ⅓ cup soy sauce
  • 1¼ cups beef broth
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Heat one tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ribeye steak slices and sear for about 5-6 minutes until lightly browned. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  2. Add another tablespoon of vegetable oil to the skillet. Sauté the chopped bell peppers and onion for about 3-4 minutes until softened.
  3. Return the cooked steak to the skillet with vegetables.
  4. In a bowl, mix garlic, black pepper, ginger, brown sugar, soy sauce, beef broth, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and cornstarch until smooth. Pour over the steak and veggies.
  5. Simmer everything over medium heat for about 4-5 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  6. Serve hot over rice and garnish with sesame seeds if desired.
