Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 lasagna noodles
  • 11/4 lbs ground beef or turkey
  • 1 (24-oz) jar spaghetti sauce
  • 2 (8-oz) cans tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 (24-oz) container cottage cheese
  • 1 (8-oz) block cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 Tbsp dried parsley
  • 1 lb mozzarella cheese slices
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375ºF.
  2. Cook lasagna noodles according to package directions; drain and set aside.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef or turkey until fully cooked. Drain excess fat and add spaghetti sauce, tomato sauce, and Italian seasoning. Simmer for about 5–10 minutes.
  4. In a bowl, mix cottage cheese, cream cheese, sour cream, beaten egg, and dried parsley until well combined.
  5. Assemble in a lightly greased 9×13-inch pan: start with meat sauce at the bottom, layer half the noodles, half the cheese mixture, one-third of mozzarella slices, half of the remaining meat sauce, and sprinkle with parmesan cheese. Repeat layers ending with meat sauce topped with mozzarella.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes; remove foil and bake uncovered for an additional 30 minutes or until bubbly and golden brown.
  7. Let it rest for 15 minutes before slicing.
