  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 10 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh sage, finely chopped
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups low-sodium chicken broth

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Prepare the turkey by removing packaging and giblets; pat dry.
  3. Combine softened butter, minced garlic, rosemary, thyme, sage, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  4. Spread half of the herb butter under the turkey skin and massage the rest over the outside.
  5. Season inside the cavity with additional salt and pepper.
  6. Tie legs together with kitchen twine; tuck wings under.
  7. Place turkey breast side up in a roasting pan; pour chicken broth into the bottom.
  8. Roast for approximately 13 minutes per pound until internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
  9. Baste every 30 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Let rest for at least 30 minutes before carving.
