Ingredients

  • 1½ tbsp oil (vegetable, canola, or peanut)
  • 500g ground beef
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp chili flakes (adjust to taste)
  • 3 tbsp water
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 4 tbsp sriracha sauce
  • 4 tbsp brown sugar
  • Rice or noodles for serving
  • Green onion, sesame seeds, diced cucumber, julienned carrot

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix the Firecracker sauce ingredients: water, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sriracha sauce, and brown sugar.
  2. Heat oil in a large frypan over high heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned (about 2½ minutes). Stir in garlic and chili flakes.
  3. Pour the Firecracker sauce into the pan and stir to coat the beef. Cook for 5 to 7 minutes until caramelized.
  4. Add water to make the dish saucier and cook for another minute.
  5. Serve hot over rice or noodles topped with green onions and sesame seeds.
