  • 9 dry lasagna noodles
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 3 cups tomato sauce
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 1 ½ cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • ½ cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup fresh parsley, finely chopped

Instructions

  1. Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté chopped onions until translucent, then add minced garlic and ground beef. Cook until browned. Stir in tomato sauce, tomato paste, salt, and parsley; let simmer.
  2. Boil salted water in a pot and cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and lay flat.
  3. In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, half of the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses, beaten egg, and chopped parsley.
  4. In a baking dish, layer starting with meat sauce, followed by noodles, cheese mixture, and repeat until all ingredients are used. Top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan.
  5. Cover with foil and bake at 375°F for 45 minutes; uncover and bake an additional 20 minutes until golden.
