  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 12 ounces lasagna noodles
  • 15 ounces ricotta cheese
  • 16 ounces mozzarella cheese
  • 44 ounces tomato sauce
  • 6 ounces tomato paste
  • 1 small yellow onion (diced)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon dried basil
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 2 large eggs

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef with diced onion and minced garlic until onions are soft.
  2. Stir in tomato sauce, tomato paste, oregano, basil, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes; simmer briefly.
  3. Mix ricotta cheese with eggs and part of the mozzarella in a bowl.
  4. In a greased crockpot, layer meat sauce, noodles (broken if necessary), cheese mixture; repeat until ingredients are used.
  5. Cook on low for 4 to 6 hours until bubbly.
