  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1/2 tbsp apple vinegar (or dry apple juice/rice apple vinegar)
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 1/2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1/2 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 tbsp apple vinegar (or rice apple vinegar)
  • 1 tsp dark soy sauce (substitute with regular soy sauce if needed)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 white onion (or yellow onion, thinly sliced)
  • 45 slices ginger
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced or thinly sliced)
  • 1 stalk green onion (cut into 2-inch pieces)

Instructions

  1. Thinly slice the onion, mince the garlic, slice the ginger, and cut green onions into 2-inch pieces.
  2. Slice the beef against the grain and marinate in soy sauce, apple vinegar, water, and sesame oil for about 15 minutes.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together the sauce ingredients until smooth.
  4. Heat oil in a wok over high heat; sear the marinated beef for 2-4 minutes until almost cooked through.
  5. Sauté ginger first until fragrant, then add garlic and onions until softened.
  6. Pour in the prepared sauce and cook until thickened before adding back the beef and green onions.
  7. Serve hot over steamed rice.
