  • 1 pound rigatoni pasta
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup chopped sweet yellow onion
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 48 ounces marinara sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese (divided)
  • 6 ounces shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F.
  2. Cook rigatoni in salted boiling water until al dente, then drain.
  3. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat; sauté onions for 2-3 minutes. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Stir in garlic and cook for another 30 seconds.
  4. Add marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, and pepper; simmer for about 10 minutes.
  5. Mix cooked rigatoni with the meat sauce and stir in ¼ cup Parmesan cheese.
  6. Transfer to a greased baking dish and top with mozzarella, remaining Parmesan, and oregano.
  7. Cover with foil (sprayed with cooking spray) and bake for 25 minutes; remove foil and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
